Class Description
In the second class, we will begin to use re-sculpting tools introduced in class one as we enhance and move towards balancing basic mindfulness practice by noticing pleasant experiences. An introduction to equanimity and discernment will help us use these tools as we welcome and build new pathways in the brain.
We will focus on:
- Paying wise attention to thoughts, feelings and body sensations and our relationship to them with a welcoming, friendly attitude.
- Gently uncovering repeated story lines that lead to painful experience and suffering with an exploration of what appear to be obstacles to being with what is actually happening in the present moment.
- Strengthening our ability to become mindful and present, we will practice interrupting repeated sequences of painful storylines as a means to building new life-enhancing, transformative pathways in the brain.
- Noticing pleasant times in our life….it’s OK to enjoy! It’s OK to be satisfied!
