David Rogers has over the decades collected in this 350-page volume the written history of Tassajara Hot Springs. The collection begins with Tassajara's earliest appearance in newspapers and official records and extends through the deeds that document the establishment of the first monastery in the U.S. at Tassajara, Zen Mountain Center.

Read original reports about Tassajara's growth from a mining claim known as "Agua Caliente" to a wilderness resort, including early reports of it's healing waters, the adventures of the horse-drawn Tassajara Stage from Salinas, and the fire that destroyed the original sandstone hotel in 1949.
